Hello Insane Week

Why is it the short weeks are often the craziest? In lieu of an actual post I'll share a slew of things I've had starred in my Google Reader over the past few days. Don't worry though - they're awesome things.

Like this little nugget of info via Eater. How much more genius can the Momofuku guys get? They will deliver a date night party pack - crack pie, beer?!?!
From the official Momofuku Milk Bar Twitter account: "Brooklynites, Williamsburg milk bar delivers!! Check out the menu and get to ordering!" The delivery menu includes a date night party pack, which is two pork or veggie buns, two slices of crack pie, and six beers for $32.


Oh and this, now that Downton is done my Sundays are free for the return of Mad Men - it hasn't been on since Fall 2010!!!

And no big deal, Michelle Williams just hanging out with Lady Mary. But ick, why does insufferable younger sister Lady Edith (far left) have to be there too?

Um, how true is the above statement? It's so true in fact that this is one of my all time favorite SomeECards.  (Oh and this one is pretty good too. And this one.) But I digress ... last night John and I and our friend Katie saw Goodfellas at BAM as part of their Brooklyn Close-Up series. It was shown in a theater packed full of adoring fans and boy was it fun to watch. We laughed, we cheered, we clapped ... we brought in a bottle of wine. Lately I'm so used to hour long episodes of one series or another that it was refreshing to sit down and enjoy a whole classic movie it its entirely. Methinks I'll be listening to the Goodfellas soundtrack for the rest of the week.

This Made Me Laugh

Some of this is spot on. Just last night I was guilty of saying "QUEENS!?!?" Via Daily Intel.

We went to Smorgasburg on Saturday and boy was it delicious.  Tip: get there early!  By arriving at 12:00 PM we missed some of the lines, but by the time we were contemplating seconds (and thirds) things were out of hand.  We went with our friends Robyn and Joe (parents of the cute children pictured below) and collectively some favorite items were:

• Pork sandwiches from Porchetta - $5!
• Hot dogs from The Meat Hook (note: they are very juicy, the shirt I was wearing is ruined)
• Crack pie, Arnold Palmer icees, and blueberry cookies from Milk Bar
• Garlic toast from Scratchbread (note: this is pure garlic, we received a critique of our breath a full 24 hours later)
• Boysenberry chai popsicles from People's Pops
• A giant biscuit with clotted cream and blueberry jam from King's Crumb (they also served savory biscuits with sausage gravy)

With the exception of the $16 lobster rolls which we didn't get, everything was $5-$7.  Such a deal!  The only thing missing was a beer vendor (hint).  Here's to fitting in a little bit of Brooklyn summer before I head off!  Our gluttony led us to need a little nap in East River park after :)

On the Market in New York City

I love the Sunday Times' Real Estate feature "On the Market in New York City."  This week they featured a co-op in a building that I pass everyday on the way to the train - it's directly next to Ozzie's on 7th Avenue and Lincoln.  I have always liked the facade and wondered what the building was originally.  Love all the natural light - with a little design TLC, it could be awesome!

Williamsburg Sunday

Even though I lived in Williamsburg for almost three years and loved it, I don't make it back as much as I would like.  Yesterday JM and I had a perfect day exploring some new places and re-visiting some old favorites.

La Superior
I would definitely recommend this low-key Mexican place for brunch.  It's delicious and super affordable (which led us to order way too much).  There are very few tables, so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

Attempted Coffee Stop - Blue Bottle Coffee
Have been wanting to check this place out - they are from Oakland after all.  We didn't end up staying though since the line was out the door.  Looked great, smelled great - will have to wait until next time.
